Mexborough occurs as town on the north bank of the River Don in the Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.
Mexborough was originally the market town, but grew as much as coal mining, particularly following a construction of the Sheffield to Doncaster railway line through it. It retains the railway station.
